One of the coolest VR experiences is upon us as it seems. On March 23 Rock Band VR will come to Oculus Rift. And you can probably imagine what that means. Not only do you get to rock at home, but also on stage now. Virtually of course.

VR stage experience

Rock Band has always aimed to make people’s dreams come to of becoming a real rock star. With taking the game to the virtual reality living this dream is becoming even more realistic. Roch Band VR actually takes the player onto the virtual stage with a supporting band. You can rock on stage, check out your band colleagues or excite the crowd.

Free-flowing performance

But the virtual reality environment of Rock Band game is not the only thing that is new about the game. In this version, players have the freedom to experiment with chords, notes, and strum speeds that may not match the actual song track. Developer Harmonix says, the idea behind it is to illustrate the free-flowing nature of live music performance.

High requirements

The game bundle including a guitar is available on Amazon for preorder now for around $70. But keep in mind that you also need to have an Oculus Rift and the Oculus Touch controllers to be able to play Rock Band VR. For the time being the VR experience is only possible with a PC. But at least you can also use the new guitar controller for your Rock Band 4 game, as Harmonix confirmed. Vice versa your old Rock Band 4 guitar controllers also support the new VR game.
